2.43.6. Coupling

GENERAL INFORMATION

Incomplete switching off of coupling (coupling conducts)

At this malfunction gear shifting of the forward course is complicated, and transfer of a backing joins with noise or does not join at all.

Reasons and ways of its elimination:

  – buckling of disks;
  – jamming of the conducted clutch plate on vents of a main shaft. This malfunction can arise after long or misuse of the car owing to pollution or wear of vents;
  – jamming of a cable of coupling, lever of switching off of coupling or pedal of coupling. In this case to clear and grease details with universal lubricant;
  – wear of a cable of coupling.

Incomplete inclusion of coupling (coupling "slips")

Signs of this malfunction: insufficient acceleration of the car, despite sharp increase in turns of the engine by the included transfer and the released coupling pedal, loss of speed at the movement on rise, the increased fuel consumption, is felt a specific smell from burning of overlays of a clutch plate.

Reasons and ways of its elimination:

  – frictional slips wore out or burned. In this case it is necessary to replace slips or a clutch plate;
  – frictional slips were made oily. It is possible at wear of sealing rings of the transmission;
  – reduction of elasticity of a press spring that demands replacement of a drive plate.

Breakthroughs during the coupling work

Causes of defect: jamming of a nave of a clutch plate on vents of a main shaft of the transmission, oiling of frictional slips, jamming in the coupling drive, damage of a surface or a buckling of a press disk, an uneven clip of a drive plate, the wrong laying of a cable of coupling.

Noise when pressing a coupling pedal:

  – the release bearing which is subject to replacement is faulty;
  – a beating of the conducted disk on a flywheel and a drive plate. The conducted disk is subject to replacement.
