6.2. Reduction of toxicity of exhaust gases and management of operation of the engine

GENERAL INFORMATION

1 – detonation sensor

Information plate

The plate with information on system of reduction of toxicity of exhaust gases and with the scheme of passing of vacuum hoses is located under a cowl.

For reduction of pollution of the atmosphere from the remains several systems of reduction of toxicity of exhaust gases are available incompleteness of the burned-down fuel and exhaust gases, for achievement of optimum power setting and economy of fuel in the car:

 – system of repeated combustion of exhaust gases (EGR);
 – system of catching of vapors of fuel (EVP);
 – multipoint system of injection of fuel (MPFI);
 – system of compulsory ventilation of a case (PCV);
 – catalyst.

The general description of the operations which are in competence of the motorist on check and replacement of some details is provided in this section.

Before to draw conclusions about malfunction of toxicity of exhaust gases, any of systems of reduction, carefully check fuel system and system of ignition. Definition of malfunctions of some of devices of reduction of toxicity demands special devices and experience.
