8.1.6. Removal and installation of the transmission

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Open a cowl and record it in open situation.
2. Remove a weight wire from the accumulator.
3. If on the car the hummock drive of coupling is installed, disconnect a coupling cable. If on the car the hydraulic drive of coupling is installed, separate the working cylinder of coupling from the transmission.

Prevention

Do not press a coupling pedal after removal of the working cylinder of coupling from the transmission.

4. Remove a forward support (see rice. Details of the lever of gear shifting of models 4WD). Instead of a forward support it is recommended to install the special tool for adjustment of a tilt angle of the engine for simplification of removal of the transmission. In the absence of the special tool it is necessary to use a jack slightly to raise a forward part of the engine
5. Mark and disconnect electric sockets from the transmission.
6. Remove a starter.
7. Unscrew the top right bolt of fastening of the transmission to the engine.
8. Lift the car and record on supports. Merge oil from the transmission.
9. Remove the elements of the exhaust system interfering removal of the transmission.
10. Unscrew the tire of grounding of the transmission.
11. Disconnect a speedometer drive cable on the right side of the transmission.
12. On models 4WD remove the driveshaft.
13. Disconnect draft of the shock-absorber, a spring and draft of gear shifting from the transmission.
14. Disconnect hinges of power shafts from the transmission.
15. Prop up the transmission a jack.
16. Unscrew and remove forward, central and back beams.
17. Unscrew two lower nuts of fastening of the transmission to the engine.
18. Using the special tool installed instead of a forward support or using a jack, raise a forward part of the engine so that a back part of the engine was at an angle down. Move the transmission from the engine to take an entrance shaft of the transmission from a clutch plate nave, and slowly lower the transmission.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Apply a thin film of universal lubricant on grooves of an entrance shaft of the transmission. Raise the transmission and combine it with the engine.
2. Slowly moving the transmission to the engine, insert an entrance shaft of the transmission into a clutch plate nave. Screw the lower nuts of fastening of the transmission on the engine.
3. Establish back, central and forward beams and fix by bolts and nuts.
4. Remove the jack supporting the transmission.
5. Attach power shafts to the transmission.
6. Install draft of the shock-absorber and draft of gear shifting on the transmission.
7. On models 4WD install the driveshaft.
8. Establish the elements of the exhaust system removed earlier.
9. Connect electric sockets of the sensor of oxygen, the switch of light of a backing and the switch of neutral position of the transmission.
10. Connect a speedometer drive cable.
11. Lower the car.
12. Establish the top bolt of fastening to the engine and tighten it the required moment.
13. Establish a starter.
14. Remove the special tool and establish a forward support.
15. Connect the grounding tire to the transmission.
16. Establish a cable of coupling and adjust a free wheeling of a cable or install the working cylinder of coupling on the transmission.
17. Connect a weight wire to the accumulator.
18. Fill in oil in the transmission.
