9.4.3. Replacement of protective covers of hinges of equal angular speeds

9.4.3.1. The hinge with balls and a separator

Power shaft with the hinge with balls and a separator

Dismantling

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove a power shaft.
2. Fix a power shaft in a vice with soft sponges.
3. Remove collars of fastening of a protective cover.
4. Remove a protective cover from the case of the internal hinge.
5. Take the fixing ring from the case of the internal hinge.
6. Remove the case of the internal hinge from a power shaft.
7. Clean old lubricant from the hinge of equal angular speeds.
8. Remove a lock ring from the end of a power shaft.
9. Remove an internal ring with balls from a power shaft.
10. Using paint, note the mutual provision of an internal ring and separator.
11. Using a screw-driver edge, take balls from a separator.
12. Turn an internal ring on 90 °, at the same time combine ledges of an internal ring with separator windows.
13. Take an internal ring from a separator.

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Using solvent, clear all details of the hinge.
2. Check a condition of details for existence of pointed corrosion, scratches, cracks and damages (on the right – an internal ring of the hinge, at the left – a separator).
3. With defects replace the hinge assembled.

Assembly

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Establish an internal ring in a separator, at the same time combine adjusting tags.
2. Insert balls into separator windows.
3. Not to damage a protective cover at installation on a power shaft, wind with an adhesive tape of a vent of a power shaft.
4. Pull a small collar of fastening of a protective cover, and then a protective cover over a power shaft and remove an adhesive tape.
5. Establish assembly of an internal ring of a separator and balls on a power shaft.
6. Establish a lock ring.
7. Fill with fresh lubricant the hinge of equal angular speeds.
8. Install the case of the internal hinge on a power shaft and fix it by the fixing ring.
9. Remove surplus of lubricant and install a protective cover on the case of the hinge of equal angular speeds.
10. Then let out the air from under a protective cover.
11. Using the special tool, fix a protective cover by new collars.
12. Fix the lock of a collar of a protective cover.
13. Cut off the acting collar tail.
14. Establish a protective ring on a big collar of fastening of a protective cover.
15. Establish a power shaft.
