4.3.3. Receiver / dehumidifier

GENERAL INFORMATION

Arrangement of a receiver / dehumidifier in a motor compartment.

The receiver dehumidifier (it is specified by an arrow) works as the filter and the tank for coolant and is established on the right side in a motor compartment.

Prevention

Air conditioning system is under the high pressure therefore it is impossible to weaken any connections. The experts trained in safe working methods with use of the appropriate equipment with observance of rules of depressurization, acquainted with methods of collecting and order of storage of automobile coolant have to make a discharge of system.


Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Discharge the air conditioning system.
2. Remove a weight wire from the accumulator.

Prevention

On some models the safety airbag is installed. Therefore it is necessary to remove a weight wire from the accumulator and to wait at least one minute before work about the sensor of collision or the dashboard to avoid casual expansion of the airbag of safety.


3. Disconnect the electric socket from pressure sensor on a receiver / dehumidifier.
4. Unscrew two tubes from a receiver / dehumidifier.
5. Weaken a clip and having pulled a receiver / dehumidifier up, remove it.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. At installation of a new receiver / dehumidifier merge oil from an old receiver / dehumidifier in a measuring test tube. Fill in the same amount of new oil in a new receiver / dehumidifier.
2. Establish a receiver / dehumidifier and fix by a clip.
3. Connect pipes to a receiver / dehumidifier, previously having established on them new sealing rings of round section and having oiled them.
4. Further installation is made in the sequence, the return to removal.
