GENERAL INFORMATION

Free wheeling of a steering wheel

The free wheeling of a steering wheel is a corner on which it is necessary to turn a steering wheel before turn of forward wheels of the car.

The car costs on the earth

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Establish forward wheels for the movement directly forward. Check a free wheeling of a steering wheel. If the free wheeling exceeds admissible limits, bearings of wheels, hinges of a steering shaft, spherical support and the steering mechanism can be worn-out.
2. Excessive lists of the car, the increased vibration of a body on the uneven road, rocking on turns demonstrates damage to steering and a suspension bracket.
3. For control of shock-absorbers shake the car pressing each of four corners of the car. If the body did not return to initial situation for one or two courses, it is necessary to replace the shock-absorber.
4. Check the provision of a body concerning the earth. If there is a list on the party either forward or back, most likely, springs sank or suspension bracket details are worn-out.

On the lifted car

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Examine a condition of hinges of a steering shaft, existence of leaks from the steering mechanism, integrity of protective covers and consolidations.
2. Check a wheel side play for what take a wheel hands in the provision 12 and 6 of hours and try to shake it in the vertical plane. Very small side play is admissible, but if a side play rather big, then further check is necessary.
3. To establish a source, continue to swing a wheel while the assistant presses a foot brake. If the side play is eliminated or considerably reduced that probably that hug bearings are damaged. If the side play is still considerable with the pressed brake, so there is a wear in connections and fastenings of a suspension bracket.
4. Now take a wheel in the provision 9 and 3 of hour and try to shake it in the horizontal plane. Existence of a side play in the horizontal plane can be caused by wear in hug bearings or spherical hinges of steering draft. If internal or external spherical hinged connection is worn out, the side play will be obvious.
5. Using the big screw-driver as the lever, check wear in plugs of fastening of a suspension bracket between elements of a suspension bracket and a point of application.
6. Check a protective cover of steering transfer.
7. Check a condition of rubber elements of a suspension bracket and integrity of protective covers.
8. Examine rubber protective covers of hinges of equal angular speeds, squeezing them for disclosure of bends.
9. Check protective covers for existence of cracks which can lead to lubricant leak, and also to penetration in water and dirt. Also check a condition of fixing collars. Examine covers of internal hinges of equal angular speeds and casings on the other hand. If any damage is found, then the cover needs to be replaced immediately.
