GENERAL INFORMATION

Charcoal canister arrangement on early models

Charcoal canister arrangement on late models

The canister is specified by an arrow.

The system of catching of vapors of fuel has to take away fuel vapors from the fuel tank and fuel system and store them in a canister of charcoal and then give them to an inlet collector during the operation of the engine.

The most general sign of damage to system of catching of vapors of fuel is a strong fuel smell in a motor compartment. In the presence of a smell of fuel check a condition of the canister of charcoal located in a motor compartment or under the car.
